This was a Christmas present for my brother. I had been bushwacking through the woods I had found outside the suburban sprawl that is Sept-Iles, and had come across a clearing. A million voices started crying out, and crows took flight from everywhere. They darted from tree to tree all around me, cawing and looking at me curiously. Apparently they had congregated in that place and built their nests there. I knelt in the clearing on a mossened log, and simply listened to them for a while.
They told me of how they were sick of bulldozers coming into their land and flattening it out to put up oversized blank-faced grey-sided houses with miniature twigs that were poor excuses for trees.
They said they didn't mind too much, but that they really didn't want me around either. I could attract others.

I bid them farewell, and left.

I hope Nick likes it.
